Our Oakland facility is back up and running at full capacity after a devastating fire destroyed our shop and warehouse in June 2009. Coker Pump Oakland is back in our new state of the art facility and outfitted with new tools and equipment for handling your repair and fabrication needs.
Every day we are receiving stock shipments in order to be able to provide our customers with the level they expect and deserve. We appreciate and thank all our loyal customers for their patience during these past months.
Coker Pump has always had disaster plans in place but never expected them to be relied on and tested for this type of interruption or duration. Most of our plans were laid out for earthquake damage and power disruption which may have hindered our ability to function and support our customers. Our utility power was cut at two in the morning the night of the fire and our generators kicked in to supply power to the computer server room and offices immediately. After evaluating damages, it was decided to completely move all company operations to our valley facility in Salida. The office was in high gear and by eleven the next morning had all systems up and running in the redundant server racks. Our Oakland employees worked tirelessly with the disaster relief teams who arrived on site while the customer support department commuted to Salida for a few weeks until the temporary offices could be set up in our smaller auxiliary Oakland warehouse.
We would like to thank MSB Disaster & Recovery and Firemans Fund Insurance for their commitment to getting us back in the game so quickly. For such a large scope of loss to be put back together in such a short time is unprecedented and we are grateful.
Regards,
Erik Coker
